Sig Sauer M17 Commemorative 9mm Limited Edition
The Sig Sauer M17 Commemorative is a limited-production civilian release of the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun System sidearm. Only 5,000 were produced, serialized M17-0001 through M17-5000, each marked with the Army’s required unique identifier (UID). The pistol is delivered in the same cardboard packaging as issued to the military, and upon registration, purchasers receive a certificate of authenticity and a commemorative challenge coin matched to the pistol’s serial number.
This model is chambered in 9mm and uses a 4.7-inch barrel with a coyote-tan PVD coated stainless steel slide and coyote-tan controls, matching the original pistols first issued to the 101st Airborne Division. The slide is cut to the exact specifications of the Army’s MHS contract and is not compatible with the commercial ROMEO1 optic. Instead, it ships with a removable night-sight rear plate, paired with a SIGLITE night-sight front. The grip module is the coyote-tan carry-length frame, and a manual thumb safety is included as specified by the contract.
The M17 Commemorative is a striker-fired pistol supplied with two 21-round magazines and one 17-round magazine. From pistol to packaging, the Commemorative is identical to the U.S. Army’s service-issued M17.
