The Walther PPK is a double action/single action semi automatic pistol chambered in 9mm Kurz (.380 ACP), manufactured by Carl Walther Waffenfabrik in Ulm/Do., West Germany. The PPK uses a fixed barrel blowback operated action and features a slide mounted safety/decocker, an exposed hammer, and a push button magazine release on the left side of the frame. It is fitted with red polymer grips bearing the Walther banner on both panels. The left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner and "Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do. Modell PPK-Cal.9mm kurz". The right side of the frame bears an eagle emblem and is marked "DISTRIBUTED BY INTERARMS ALEXANDRIA VIRGINIA USA". The left side of the grip frame is marked "MADE IN GERMANY". The pistol features a 60 degree safety/decocker and a lanyard loop at the base of the grip.
