Winchester Model 42 .410 Bore Pump Action Shotgun, MFG 1935

The Winchester Model 42 is a pump action shotgun chambered exclusively in .410 bore, introduced by Winchester in 1933. It is a scaled down adaptation of the Winchester Model 12, sharing that platform's hammerless, takedown design with a machined steel receiver and dual action bars. The Model 42 is slam fire capable and uses a cross-bar push button safety located at the front of the trigger guard. The Model 42 was produced from 1933 to 1963 with total production of approximately 164,000 units. It was the only high grade, purpose built .410 bore pump action shotgun of its era and holds a distinguished position among American sporting shotguns.

This example is serial number 14376, manufactured in 1935, placing it in the second full year of Model 42 production. It features the original style receiver profile, a corn cob style pump forend, plain walnut stock, blued steel finish, and a front bead sight. The shotgun is chambered in .410 bore with a 3 inch chamber and fitted with a fixed choke barrel. No original box or accessories included.
