The Winchester Model 94AE is a lever action rifle and a modernized version of the Model 94 platform originally designed by John Moses Browning and introduced in 1894. The AE (Angle Eject) designation indicates the redesigned ejection system that deflects spent casings at an angle away from the top of the receiver rather than straight up, allowing for the convenient mounting of optics directly above the bore axis. The Trapper variant is distinguished by its compact 16 inch barrel and full length tubular magazine, making it one of the most compact lever action configurations produced by Winchester. The large loop finger lever provides additional clearance for gloved hands and allows for rapid lever cycling, a practical advantage in cold weather or when wearing heavy work gloves.

This example is chambered in .45 Colt and features a full length tubular magazine beneath the barrel. The left side of the receiver is fitted with a saddle ring, a traditional feature originally intended for securing the carbine to a saddle via a leather thong. The rear sight is a Lyman tang mounted peep sight paired with a blade front sight. The rifle is equipped with a walnut straight grip stock and walnut forend, and a cross bolt safety. No original box or accessories included.
