Winchester Model 94AE 7-30 Waters

The Winchester Model 94AE is the angle eject variant of the Model 94 lever action rifle, introduced in 1984 to address the common limitation of over-the-bore scope mounting posed by the original top ejection design. The AE designation denotes a redesigned ejection port that directs spent cases at an angle to the right side of the receiver, clearing the top of the action for scope mounting. The underlying mechanism uses a vertically sliding bolt lock operated by the lever, with a two piece firing pin and rebounding hammer.

This example is chambered in 7-30 Waters and is fitted with a checkered walnut pistol grip stock and checkered walnut forearm. The 7-30 Waters cartridge is a necked down .30-30 Winchester developed by handloader and writer Ken Waters, designed to deliver flatter trajectory and improved downrange performance from the lever action platform while remaining compatible with the Model 94 action and tubular magazine when loaded with pointed polymer tipped or flat nose projectiles. Sights consist of a tall blade front sight and an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight. No original box or accessories included.
