Winchester 9417 Traditional .17 HMR
The Winchester Model 9417 is a lever action rimfire rifle built on the 9422 platform, chambered specifically for the .17 HMR cartridge. The 9422 series was manufactured by U.S. Repeating Arms Company under the Winchester name and is recognized for its scaled down lever action derived from the centerfire Model 94, adapted for rimfire cartridges with a short throw lever and front loading tubular magazine. The action uses a machined steel forging for the receiver with a grooved top for tip off scope mounts and a side ejection port that allows for straightforward optic mounting. The rifle is fitted with a hooded blade front sight and an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight as standard. The 9417 variant was introduced in 2003 to chamber the then new .17 HMR cartridge and was produced until 9422 series manufacturing ended in 2005.
This example is a 9417 Traditional, denoting the standard configuration with a walnut straight grip stock and forearm with steel barrel band. The metal surfaces are finished in blue throughout. The rifle feeds from an 11 round tubular magazine loaded through a port in the front of the magazine tube. Original box included.
