Winchester Model 70 .264 Winchester Magnum, Manufactured 1972, Weaver K4-1 Scope
The Winchester Model 70 is a bolt action rifle produced by Winchester Repeating Arms, introduced in 1936 and widely regarded as one of the most significant American bolt action sporting rifle designs. The Model 70 is built around a two lug bolt action feeding from an internal magazine. The rifle is fitted with a hooded blade front sight and a semi buckhorn rear sight, with the receiver being drilled and tapped for scope mounting. The walnut stock features a Monte Carlo comb with cheekpiece with diamond checkering throughout.
This example was manufactured in 1972 and is chambered in .264 Winchester Magnum. The .264 Winchester Magnum chambering was introduced in 1959 as a high velocity, flat shooting belted magnum cartridge driving a 6.5mm bullet at velocities exceeding 3,200 feet per second. A Weaver K4-1 fixed 4x scope is mounted in a Holden Ironsighter see-through mount, positioning the optic high enough to allow unobstructed use of the iron sights beneath it. No original box or accessories included.
