The Winchester Model 52 is a bolt action rimfire target rifle introduced in 1920 by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. The rifle underwent several significant design revisions during its production life, with letter suffixes appended to serial numbers to denote major changes, though barrel markings remained consistent across variants. The Type C designation indicates the third major revision, introduced in 1947, which incorporated improvements to the trigger mechanism and other refinements to the action. The Model 52C Target variant features a 28 inch heavy contour barrel designed for sustained accuracy in match shooting, a smooth walnut target stock with beavertail forend, pistol grip, straight comb, and checkered steel buttplate. The action feeds from a detachable box magazine and incorporates an adjustable target trigger with provisions for pull weight and over-travel adjustment. The receiver is drilled and tapped for sight mounting.

This example bears serial number 102522C with a manufacture date of 1961. The left side of the receiver is electropenciled "U.S. PROPERTY". The rifle is equipped with a Redfield Olympic front sight mounted to a dovetailed base on the barrel and a Redfield Olympic aperture rear sight. The forend features an inset factory accessory rail mounted to the bottom with 6 drilled and tapped holes for accessories. Sling swivels are installed at the buttstock, forend accessory rail, and at the front of the forend. Accompanied by one 5-round detachable magazine and one single shot adapter magazine. No original box included.
