Winchester Model 42 Skeet .410 Bore, 28" Barrel, Simmons Ventilated Rib, Straight English Stock, MFG 1953

The Winchester Model 42 is a slide action shotgun chambered exclusively in .410 bore, introduced by Winchester in 1933. The Model 42 is based on the Winchester Model 12 platform, scaled down to accommodate the .410 bore shell. The action is a hammerless pump with dual action bars and is bottom ejecting. The Model 42 was produced in several grades and configurations, with the Skeet variant featuring a fixed Skeet choke intended for competitive skeet shooting. The Skeet grade is distinguished by higher grade walnut and checkering compared to the standard grade. Production of the Model 42 continued from 1933 to 1963, with total production of approximately 164,800 units across all grades.

This example was manufactured in 1953 and is fitted with a 28 inch barrel with a 3 inch chamber and fixed Skeet choke. The barrel is fitted with a Simmons ventilated rib. The stock is walnut in a straight English configuration, and the forend is walnut with double diamond checkering. The length of pull measures 13.875 inches. No original box or accessories included.
