The Taurus Tracker Model 17 is a double action/single action revolver chambered in .17 Hornady Magnum Rimfire, manufactured by Taurus in Brazil. Built on Taurus's medium frame, the Tracker 17 provides a flat shooting, low recoil revolver platform suited to small game hunting, pest control, and target shooting, taking advantage of the .17 HMR cartridge's high velocity and inherent accuracy. The Tracker series is characterized by its ventilated rib barrel, which reduces barrel weight and aids in heat dissipation. The revolver uses a seven round cylinder, leveraging the small case diameter of the .17 HMR cartridge to provide one additional round over the six round of typical revolvers.
