The Taurus 689 is a medium frame double action/single action revolver chambered in .357 Magnum. Produced by Forjas Taurus S.A. in Porto Alegre, Brazil, the Model 689 was part of Taurus's medium frame .357 Magnum revolver lineup and shared design lineage with the Model 66 series while incorporating a full underlug barrel profile for added weight and reduced muzzle rise during magnum cartridge firing.
