The Steyr M9A2 MF is a full size, striker fired semi automatic pistol chambered in 9mm, manufactured by Steyr Arms in Austria. The M9A2 MF represents the latest evolution of the Steyr M series originally designed by Wilhelm Bubits in the late 1990s. The pistol operates on a short recoil, modified Browning cam lock system with a low bore axis. The "MF" designation indicates the modular frame variant, which incorporates interchangeable backstraps and side panels to adjust grip geometry and fit. The frame is polymer with internal steel rail inserts on which the carbon steel slide rides. The M9A2 MF features a Picatinny accessory rail on the dust cover and a trigger safety integrated into the flat faced trigger blade.
