Smith & Wesson Model 657-4 .41 Magnum, 7.5" Full Lug Barrel, Unfluted Cylinder, Stainless

The Smith & Wesson Model 657 is a double action/single action revolver chambered in .41 Magnum, built on the large N frame. The Model 657 is the stainless steel counterpart to the blued Model 57, itself introduced in 1964 alongside the .41 Magnum cartridge. The .41 Magnum was developed through the advocacy of Elmer Keith, Bill Jordan, and Skeeter Skelton as a cartridge intended to bridge the gap between the .357 Magnum and the .44 Magnum, offering superior terminal performance to the .357 while producing less recoil than the .44. The Model 657 was introduced in 1986, providing the .41 Magnum platform in a corrosion resistant stainless steel construction.

This example is a special order configuration bearing product code 103946 and special order number 1044. It is fitted with a 7.5 inch full lug barrel and an unfluted cylinder. The revolver features a stainless steel finish throughout and is equipped with an extended cylinder release. Sights consist of a ramp front and a micrometer click adjustable rear. The revolver is fitted with S&W branded rubber grips. Original box included.
