The Model 629-6 is built on Smith & Wesson’s large N frame and operates in double action and single action. Chambered in .44 Magnum and capable of firing .44 Special, the revolver uses a swing out cylinder with a six-round capacity. The Competitor configuration is distinguished by its full underlug barrel assembly with an integrated weight system that allows steel or aluminum weights to be installed beneath the barrel to alter balance.

The barrel profile is slab sided with machined flats, and the revolver is equipped with a patridge style front sight and adjustable rear sight. The stainless steel construction provides uniform finish across the frame, cylinder, and barrel assembly while retaining the standard N frame dimensions and control layout. No original box or accessories included.
