Smith & Wesson Model 610-2 10mm Auto, 3 7/8" Barrel, Stainless, MFG February 2001

The Smith & Wesson Model 610 is a double action revolver built on the large N frame platform, chambered in 10mm Auto. Introduced in 1990, the 610 is one of a small number of revolvers designed to fire rimless semi automatic pistol cartridges, using full moon clips to headspace and extract the rimless cases. The revolver also accepts .40 S&W cartridges via the same moon clips. The 610 was cataloged only intermittently during its production history, with most examples produced during limited runs or as special orders through Smith & Wesson. The Model 610 uses Smith & Wesson's N frame, providing substantial mass to manage the 10mm Auto cartridge's recoil characteristics and features a traditional double action/single action trigger mechanism.

This example is a Model 610-2, product code 103571, produced as Special Order #1054 with a date of manufacture of February 23, 2001. The revolver features a 3 7/8 inch full underlug barrel, an unfluted six round cylinder, and a stainless steel finish throughout. It is fitted with wood grips with finger grooves. Sights consist of a front blade and an adjustable rear sight. Accompanied by original box and moon clips.
