Smith & Wesson 57 .41 Remington Magnum, 4" Barrel, Blued, Wood Presentation Case

The Smith & Wesson Model 57 is an N-frame revolver chambered in .41 Remington Magnum, introduced in 1964 alongside the cartridge itself. The .41 Magnum was developed as an intermediate option between the .357 Magnum and .44 Magnum, intended to provide superior terminal performance to the .357 while producing less recoil and muzzle blast than the .44. The Model 57 was positioned as the deluxe target variant of the .41 Magnum lineup, distinguishing it from the fixed sight Model 58 that was marketed toward law enforcement. Built on Smith & Wesson's large N-frame, the Model 57 shares its platform with the iconic Model 29 and offered the same level of fit and finish expected of Smith & Wesson's premier revolvers of the era.

This example was manufactured in 1969 or 1970 and features a 4 inch pinned barrel with a blued finish and recessed cylinder chambers. The revolver is fitted with a wide grooved target trigger and wide checkered target hammer spur. The sight system consists of a red ramp front sight paired with a micrometer click adjustable white outline rear sight. Grips are smooth Goncalo Alves target grips with S&W medallions. The revolver is accompanied by a wood presentation case with blue velvet interior, cleaning brush, and screwdriver tool.
