Smith & Wesson Model 29-2 .44 Magnum, 8 3/8" Barrel, Blued, Scroll Engraved, Presentation Case

The Smith & Wesson Model 29 is a double action/single action revolver chambered in .44 Remington Magnum, built on the large N-frame platform. The revolver was introduced in 1955 as one of the first production revolvers chambered for the .44 Magnum cartridge, ultimately being adopted as the Model 29 in 1957. The dash 2 designation indicates the second engineering change, introduced in 1961, which eliminated the screw securing the cylinder stop spring. The 29-2 features a pinned barrel and recessed cylinder that allows cartridge rims to sit flush with the rear of the cylinder.

This example features an 8 3/8 inch barrel with a blued finish throughout and was likely manufactured between 1975 and 1977 based on its serial number, N328122. The revolver is extensively decorated with scroll engraving covering approximately 75-80% of the frame, trigger guard, cylinder, and barrel. It is fitted with a color case hardened checkered target hammer and serrated target trigger. Sights consist of a red insert serrated ramp front and an adjustable rear. The revolver is fitted with smooth Goncalo Alves presentation grips with gold colored S&W medallions. Accompanied by blue lined presentation case, cleaning brushes, screwdriver, manual, warranty card, and additional pamphlets.

Note: Revolver is not accompanied by a factory letter, but we believe the engraving is factory. One side of the blue presentation case liner has become brittle and began to crack.
