Smith & Wesson 19-2 Combat Magnum .357 Magnum, 4" Pinned Barrel, Blued, MFG 1968
The Smith & Wesson Model 19, known as the Combat Magnum, is a K-frame revolver chambered in .357 Magnum. Introduced in 1955 at the suggestion of Border Patrol officer and competitive shooter Bill Jordan, the Model 19 was designed to provide a full power .357 Magnum revolver on the medium K-frame platform rather than the larger and heavier N-frame used by the Model 27. This made the Combat Magnum significantly lighter and more practical for daily carry while still capable of handling magnum loads. The Model 19 quickly became one of the most popular law enforcement revolvers in the United States and is widely regarded as one of the finest service revolvers ever produced. The dash 2 engineering change, introduced in 1961, incorporated a redesigned cylinder stop and other minor internal modifications.
This example was manufactured in 1968 and features a pinned 4 inch barrel with a blued finish and recessed cylinder chambers. The revolver is fitted with a red ramp front sight paired with a micrometer click adjustable rear sight. The hammer is a standard profile checkered spur and the trigger is a standard grooved service trigger. Grips are checkered walnut service grips with S&W medallions. No original box or accessories included.
