Smith & Wesson Model 13-2 .357 Magnum, 4" Heavy Barrel, Blued, Square Butt, Original Box

The Smith & Wesson Model 13 is a K-frame, six-round, double action revolver chambered in .357 Magnum. Introduced in 1974, the Model 13 is essentially a fixed sight, heavy barrel version of the Model 19 Combat Magnum — or equivalently, a .357 Magnum version of the Model 10 Heavy Barrel. Designed as a duty revolver for law enforcement and military use, the Model 13 was adopted by a number of agencies including the FBI and various state police departments. Its combination of a heavy barrel, fixed sights, and robust K-frame construction made it a practical and reliable service sidearm. The dash-2 engineering change, introduced in 1977, incorporated several internal modifications including a gas ring alteration on the cylinder.

This example features a 4 inch heavy barrel with a blued finish and a square butt frame fitted with checkered walnut service grips. Sights consist of a serrated ramp front sight and a fixed rear notch integral to the top strap. Based on the serial number, this revolver was manufactured in 1979. Original box with wrapping paper, instruction/parts manual, cleaning brush, and warranty card included.
