The Springfield Armory Emissary is a full size 1911 semi automatic pistol that bridges traditional 1911 design with modern features and manufacturing refinements. The pistol operates on a short recoil, locked breech system with a single action trigger and uses a forged frame and slide construction. The Emissary features a match grade bull barrel that eliminates the traditional barrel bushing, paired with a flat wire recoil spring system for consistent cycling. The trigger is a flat face design with an adjustable overtravel stop. The frontstrap and mainspring housing are machined with a square cut checkering pattern at 25 lines per inch, providing a positive grip texture without the sharpness of traditional hand cut checkering. The slide features rear cocking serrations with a top serration pattern machined into the flat top slide for glare reduction. The Emissary is fitted with a tritium front sight paired with a U-notch rear sight. Additional features include an ambidextrous thumb safety and an extended beavertail grip safety.
