The Sako 85 is a bolt action rifle manufactured by Sako in Riihimäki, Finland. The action uses three front locking lugs with a 70 degree bolt throw. The bolt incorporates a two position thumb safety on the right side of the receiver that locks both the bolt handle and trigger mechanism. The receiver is machined from stainless steel and features an integral dovetail for scope mounting. The rifle feeds from a detachable box magazine.

This example is an SM Grey Wolf variant chambered in .300 Winchester Short Magnum with a 24 inch stainless steel barrel. The barreled action is finished in matte stainless throughout. The stock is gray and black laminate with cut checkering at the pistol grip and forend, a Monte Carlo cheekpiece with straight comb, and a black rubber recoil pad. There are no provisions for iron sights, though 1 inch scope rings are currently installed. No original box or accessories included.
