The 870 Magnum Marine uses the standard Model 870 dual action bar pump system with a steel receiver and tubular magazine. The barrel is configured for 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch shells and fitted with a simple front bead sight. Black synthetic furniture and a ribbed polymer forend provide a secure grip, while the extended magazine tube increases onboard capacity compared to sporting configurations.

The Marine finish is an electroless nickel coating applied to the external steel components to resist rust and salt exposure. The model was commonly marketed toward marine, law enforcement, and storage environments where corrosion resistance was a priority over traditional blued finishes. No original box or accessories.
