Remington 788 .308 Winchester, 22 Inch Barrel, MFG 1979

The Remington 788 is a bolt action centerfire rifle produced by Remington Arms from 1967 to 1983. Designed as an economical sporting rifle, the 788 uses a rear locking lug bolt design with nine locking lugs arranged in three rows of three at the rear of the bolt body, engaging corresponding recesses in the receiver. This configuration results in a short 60 degree bolt throw. The action uses a push feed system with a plunger ejector and spring loaded extractor. The 788 feeds from a 3-round detachable box magazine.

This example is chambered in .308 Winchester and was manufactured in August 1979 based on its WV barrel date code. It features a 22 inch barrel with a blade front sight, though no rear sight is present, only a scope based mounted to the receiver. No original box or accessories included.
