The Remington Model 700 SPS (Special Purpose Synthetic) is a bolt action rifle built on the Remington 700 action, positioned as a field ready configuration within the Model 700 lineup. The action is a push feed design with a counterbored bolt face, sliding plate extractor, and plunger ejector. The receiver is machined from carbon steel and is drilled and tapped for scope mounting. The SPS features a matte black oxide finish on the barreled action, intended to reduce glare and provide corrosion resistance in field conditions. The stock is a black synthetic design with textured handling surfaces.
