The Remington Model 700 is a bolt action rifle introduced in 1962. The Model 700 action is a push feed design with a recessed bolt face, dual front locking lugs, a plunger ejector, and a sliding plate extractor. The bolt cocks on opening and operates with a 90 degree throw. The cylindrical receiver is machined from round bar stock with the bolt handle serving as a third safety lug, and the receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting. The safety is a two position thumb safety located on the right rear of the receiver that locks the bolt when engaged.

This example is chambered in .243 Winchester and features a blued receiver and 24 inch blued barrel with no front or rear sights. The rifle is fitted with a Boyds laminate wood stock with a Monte Carlo cheek piece. No original box or accessories included.
