The Remington Model 700 is one of the most widely produced bolt action rifle platforms in the world, introduced in 1962. The action uses a push feed design with a cylindrical carbon steel receiver, dual front locking lugs, a plunger ejector, and a riveted extractor. The bolt cocks on opening and operates with a 90 degree throw. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting. The BDL designation denotes the higher grade variant of the Model 700 line, featuring a walnut stock with skip line checkering on the pistol grip and forend, a black forend tip, pistol grip cap, and a polished blued finish throughout the metal surfaces. The BDL DM variant replaces the standard hinged floorplate magazine with a detachable box magazine system.

This example is chambered in .243 Winchester and features a 22 inch threaded barrel. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting. The barrel does not feature provisions for a front sight and currently has no rear sight installed, with no plug screws. No original box or accessories included.
