The Remington Model 31 is a pump action shotgun manufactured by Remington Arms in Ilion, New York, from 1931 to 1949. The Model 31 uses a bottom loading, side ejecting action with dual action bars, providing smooth and reliable cycling. The 31-TC was the trap grade variant of the Model 31, configured for competitive trap shooting and distinguished from the standard field models by its ventilated rib barrel, and higher grade walnut furniture. The 31-TC was a direct competitor to the Winchester Model 12 Trap during its production run and was well regarded for its smooth action and handling characteristics. The Model 31 was eventually succeeded by the Remington Model 870 in 1950.

This example was manufactured in January 1948, as indicated by its BTT barrel date code, and is chambered in 12 gauge with a 2 3/4 inch chamber. It is fitted with a 22.5 inch barrel marked for a Fixed Full choke, though the barrel has been shortened and fitted with a Pachmayr PowerPac collet type choke and muzzle brake. The ventilated rib has also been shortened to accommodate the PowerPac, with sights consisting of a midbead on the rib and a front bead on the PowerPac. The stock and forend are gloss finished walnut with cut checkering, the stock featuring a capped pistol grip and red Pachmayr buttpad. The length of pull measures 13.75 inches.
