Remington Model 30 Express .30-06 Springfield, Manufactured 1927

The Remington Model 30 Express is a bolt action sporting rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield, introduced by Remington in 1921 and produced through the early 1940s. The rifle is built on a modified United States Model 1917 Enfield action, utilizing surplus receivers that Remington had manufactured during World War I. The action was refined for commercial sporting use, featuring a cock on closing bolt with dual locking lugs, a hinged floorplate magazine, and a modified bolt handle swept downward for sporting use and scope clearance. The barrel is marked "30 Springfield 1906," reflecting the original military designation for the .30-06 cartridge. The Model 30 Express represented one of Remington's first purpose built bolt action sporting rifles and served as a predecessor to the later Model 720 and Model 721 lines.

This example bears a serial number placing its manufacture in 1927. The rifle is fitted with a Marble blade front sight and a Lyman No. 48 RS micrometer receiver peep sight with elevation and windage adjustment knobs. The walnut stock is configured with a schnabel forend tip, as well as front and rear sling swivel loops. No accessories included.
