The Remington Model 11-87 Super Magnum is a gas operated semi automatic shotgun introduced in 2001 as an extension of the 11-87 platform, enlarged and strengthened to accept 3.5 inch 12 gauge magnum shells. The Super Magnum uses a version of Remington's Pressure Compensating gas system adapted for the wider range of pressures generated by 2 3/4 inch, 3 inch, and 3.5 inch ammunition, automatically regulating gas flow to cycle all three shell lengths without manual adjustment. The action locks via a breech bolt with a locking block that cams into a recess in the barrel extension. The barrel is threaded for Remington RemChoke tubes.

This example is a Special Purpose variant, configured for field and waterfowl use with a non-reflective parkerized finish on all metal surfaces and a black synthetic stock and forend with molded checkering. It is chambered in 12 gauge with a 3.5 inch chamber and is fitted with a 26 inch ventilated rib barrel with a front bead sight and a Modified choke tube currently installed. The length of pull measures 13 9/16 inches. No original box or accessories included.
