Ruger Vaquero .45 Colt, 5.5" Barrel, Blued/Color Case Hardened, MFG 2001
The Ruger Vaquero is a single action revolver introduced by Sturm, Ruger & Co. in 1993. The original model Vaquero, produced from 1993 to 2004, is built on the large frame shared with the Ruger Blackhawk and Super Blackhawk. The action uses Ruger's transfer bar system, which allows the revolver to be safely carried with all six chambers loaded by preventing the firing pin from contacting a chambered cartridge unless the trigger is fully depressed.
This example is Model 2001, chambered in .45 Colt with a 5.5 inch barrel and manufactured in 1994. The barrel, cylinder, and grip frame are blued, while the frame is color case hardened. The revolver is fitted with a blued spur hammer and smooth wood grips with silver Ruger medallions. Sights consist of a blade front and a fixed notch rear integral to the top strap. Accompanied by original box.
