This Ruger Scout is a bolt action rifle based on Colonel Jeff Cooper's scout rifle concept. The rifle is built on Ruger's controlled feed M77 action with a Mauser type claw extractor and fixed blade ejector, providing reliable extraction and positive ejection. A forward mounted Picatinny rail on the barrel allows mounting of long eye relief optics, and the receiver is also drilled and tapped for conventional rear mounted scope bases. The rifle feeds from a detachable box magazine and features an adjustable ghost ring rear sight paired with a protected blade front sight for effective use without optics. The non rotating, Mauser type controlled round feed bolt incorporates a three position safety.

This example is the stainless steel and black synthetic configuration. The 16.1" cold hammer forged stainless steel barrel is fitted with a flash suppressor/compensator. The black composite stock features spacer adjustable length of pull with a soft rubber buttpad. Accompanied by three 10 round detachable box magazines, no original box or accessories included.
