Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk Bisley .480 Ruger, 4 5/8" Barrel, Stainless Steel

The Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk is a single action revolver built on Ruger's large frame platform. Originally introduced in 1959 as a strengthened variant of the Blackhawk designed for the .44 Remington Magnum cartridge, the Super Blackhawk incorporated a larger grip frame, a square back trigger guard, and a wider cylinder frame to accommodate heavy loads. The New Model designation, adopted in 1973, reflects the addition of a transfer bar safety mechanism that allows all chambers to be loaded and carried safely without resting the hammer on an empty chamber.

This example is a Bisley model chambered in .480 Ruger (SKU 00872). Bisley models feature a more vertical grip angle paired with a lower, wider hammer spur, both derived from the design of the original Colt Bisley target revolver. The revolver features a 4 5/8 inch barrel, an unfluted 5 round cylinder, and a brushed stainless steel finish throughout. It is fitted with wood grips with Ruger medallions. Sights consist of a blade front and an adjustable rear. Accompanied by original case, additional cylinder, and paperwork.
