Ruger No. 1 30-30 Winchester, 22 Inch Barrel, MFG 2011

The Ruger No. 1 is a single shot falling block rifle manufactured by Sturm, Ruger & Co. Introduced in 1967, the No. 1 utilizes a lever actuated falling block action derived from the 19th century Farquharson design. The underlever doubles as the trigger guard and, when cycled downward, drops the breechblock to expose the chamber for loading while simultaneously cocking the internal hammer. The action is compact and strong, with the receiver machined from a single investment casting of chrome molybdenum steel. The No. 1 action's inherent strength and lack of a magazine box allows for a comparatively short overall length relative to barrel length, as the barrel is mounted directly to the receiver without the space required by a bolt travel or magazine. The receiver features Ruger's integral quarter rib scope base system machined into the top of the receiver, accepting proprietary Ruger scope rings. The rifle is fitted with an Alexander Henry style forend and a semi pistol grip buttstock, both of American walnut with checkering on the grip and forend panels.

This example is a Model 11346, chambered in 30-30 Winchester with a 22 inch barrel and a blued finish on the barrel and receiver. Iron sights consist of a blade front sight and a flip up rear sight. The rifle was manufactured in 2011. No original box or accessories included.
