The Ruger New Model Single Six is a six round, single action revolver that has been in production since 1973, succeeding the original Single Six introduced in 1953. All New Model variants incorporate Ruger's transfer bar safety mechanism, allowing the revolver to be safely carried with all six chambers loaded. The Hunter variant is distinguished by its solid raised barrel rib that integrates Ruger's proprietary scope ring mounting bases machined directly into the rib, providing a robust platform for mounting optics without the need for aftermarket bases or modification. The Hunter also features an adjustable rear sight and a replaceable front sight blade mounted on the barrel rib. The Single Six Convertible ships with two interchangeable cylinders, one chambered in .22 Long Rifle and one in .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire, allowing the shooter to switch between cartridges by simply swapping cylinders.
