The Ruger New Model Blackhawk is a single action revolver introduced in 1973 as a redesign of the original Blackhawk, incorporating the transfer bar safety mechanism that became standard across Ruger's single action line. The transfer bar system allows all six chambers to be loaded and carried safely, eliminating the need for the traditional practice of carrying with the hammer down on an empty chamber. The Convertible variant ships with two cylinders, one chambered in .45 Colt and a second in .45 ACP, allowing the shooter to use either cartridge by swapping cylinders without tools.

This example is a Bicentennial edition, with a 7.5 inch barrel marked "MADE IN THE 200TH YEAR OF AMERICAN LIBERTY" on the top of the barrel. The revolver features a blued finish and smooth walnut grips with Ruger medallion inserts. Accompanied by additional .45 ACP cylinder, original box, and manual.
