The Ruger LCRx is the double action/single action variant of Ruger's LCR (Lightweight Compact Revolver) platform, distinguished from the standard LCR by its exposed hammer.. The fire control housing is a one piece polymer unit that contains the trigger mechanism and provides the serialized frame component. The upper portion of the frame is a monolithic aluminum forging that mates to the polymer housing and supports the stainless steel barrel and cylinder assembly. The LCRx uses a patented friction reducing cam fire control system that produces a smooth, consistent trigger pull throughout its travel.

This example is chambered in .327 Federal Magnum with a 1.87 inch barrel and a matte black finish. The .327 Federal Magnum chambering is notable for providing six rounds, over the five of other chamberings. The cylinder also accepts .32 H&R Magnum, .32 S&W Long, and .32 S&W cartridges. The revolver is fitted with an extended Hogue rubber grip. Sights consist of a replaceable pinned front ramp and a fixed rear notch machined into the frame. No original box or accessories included.
