The Ruger Gunsite Scout is a bolt action rifle developed in collaboration with the Gunsite Academy, built on a controlled round feed action utilizing a full length claw extractor and fixed blade ejector. The receiver incorporates a three position wing safety on the bolt shroud and an integral recoil lug. The rifle features a forward mounted Picatinny rail on the barrel, intended for use with long eye relief optics in the traditional scout rifle configuration. The rifle feeds from a detachable box magazine and the stock incorporates a length of pull adjustment system using spacers.

This example is a left hand configuration chambered in .308 Winchester, fitted with a black laminate stock and a stainless steel barrel and action. The cold hammer forged barrel is free floated within the stock and fitted with a flash suppressor. Sights consist of a post front sight with protective wings and an adjustable ghost ring rear sight. Accompanied by one 10-round detachable magazine.
