Ruger Gunsite Scout .308 Winchester, 16.1" Matte Blued Barrel, Gray/Black Laminate Stock
The Ruger Gunsite Scout is a bolt action rifle developed in collaboration with the Gunsite Academy, based on Colonel Jeff Cooper's scout rifle concept. The rifle is built on Ruger's controlled feed M77 action with a Mauser type claw extractor and fixed blade ejector, providing reliable extraction and positive ejection. The action incorporates a three position wing safety on the bolt shroud. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting, and the barrel is drilled and tapped for an optional forward mounted Picatinny rail to accommodate long eye relief scout optics. The rifle feeds from a detachable box magazine compatible with both steel and polymer Ruger magazines, as well as M14/M1A pattern magazines.
This example is model 06803, configured with a gray/black laminate stock, as well as a blued action and 16.1 inch threaded barrel currently fitted with a flash hider. The laminate stock features an adjustable length of pull via buttpad spacers, currently set at 13.25 inches, with a soft rubber buttpad. The rifle is equipped with a protected blade front sight and 1" scope rings mounted on the receiver. Accompanied by one 10-round steel magazine, no original box or additional accessories included.
