Norinco Model 97 Trench Gun, 12 Gauge

The Norinco Model 97 is a Chinese manufactured reproduction of the Winchester Model 1897 pump action shotgun, one of the most widely produced and historically significant shotgun designs of the 20th century. The original Winchester 1897, designed by John Browning, was adopted by the United States military and saw extensive service in both World Wars, where the "Trench Gun" variant equipped with a heat shield and bayonet lug became iconic. The Norinco reproduction faithfully replicates the exposed hammer, external action design of the original, including its slam fire capability -- the shotgun will fire each time the action is fully closed while the trigger is held rearward, allowing rapid successive shots. The action uses a single action bar and rotating bolt with a tubular magazine beneath the barrel.

This example is chambered in 12 gauge and was imported by Interstate Arms Corp (IAC) of Billerica, Massachusetts. It features a gold bead front sight, and the receiver is marked "US" on the right front side. No original box or accessories included.
