The Smith & Wesson M&P 9L is an extended barrel variant of the M&P striker fired semi-automatic pistol platform. The 9L designation indicates the long slide configuration with a 5 inch barrel, providing a longer sight radius and increased velocity over the standard 4.25 inch M&P. The C.O.R.E. variant features a slide milled to accept a variety of red dot optics using interchangeable mounting plates. The ported barrel and corresponding slide ports vent propellant gases upward to reduce muzzle rise during rapid fire. The pistol uses a polymer frame with a stainless steel chassis and feeds from double stack magazines. The M&P platform incorporates a striker fired action with an articulated trigger safety, internal firing pin block, and sear release lever. The frame accepts interchangeable palmswell grip inserts to adjust grip circumference.

This example was manufactured in 2015 and is fitted with an Apex flat faced trigger, replacing the factory hinged trigger. The barrel is stainless steel with factory porting. Accompanied by two 17-round magazines, optics mounting plates, interchangeable backstrap inserts, and original box.
