The Marlin XL7 is a bolt action centerfire rifle introduced in 2008 as an affordable hunting platform. The action uses a push feed design with a two front locking lug bolt and a 90 degree bolt throw. The XL7 is notable for its Pro-Fire adjustable trigger system, which allows the user to adjust trigger pull weight and incorporates a trigger blade safety that blocks the trigger from moving rearward unless the blade is depressed by the shooter's finger during a deliberate trigger press. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting. The rifle feeds from an internal box magazine. The XL7 was produced during Marlin's tenure under Remington ownership and was manufactured at the North Haven, Connecticut facility.
