The Marlin Model 1895 is a lever action rifle originally introduced in 1895 and chambered in large bore cartridges suited for heavy game. The modern production Model 1895 uses a solid top steel receiver with side ejection, a round bolt with Micro-Groove rifled barrel, and feeds from a tubular magazine beneath the barrel. The action uses a lever actuated locking bolt system with coil spring internals, and the side eject receiver layout allows for straightforward optic mounting.

In 1985, Marlin produced the Model 1895 Century Limited as a commemorative edition limited to 2,500 rifles, manufactured to mark two milestones simultaneously: the 125th Anniversary of The Marlin Firearms Company (founded 1870) and the 100th Anniversary of the Model 1895 (introduced 1895). The Century Limited is distinguished by its engraved silver finished receiver and lever, contrasted by a blued half octagon/half round barrel and black hammer. The left side of the receiver is engraved "Model 1895 100th Anniversary," while the right side features scroll and floral engraving reading "Marlin Firearms Co 125th Anniversary" surrounding a central scene depicting two bears over mountains within a framed vignette. The rifle is fitted with a walnut straight grip stock with a commemorative medallion inlaid on the right side of the buttstock and a brass crescent buttplate. Sights consist of a semi buckhorn rear sight and a brass bead front sight. This example is in like-new condition with its original box and manual.
