Marlin Model 1894 .44 Remington Magnum, JM Stamped, Gold Trigger & Saddle Ring, MFG 1971

The Marlin Model 1894 is a lever action rifle originally introduced in 1894 and reintroduced in modern production form in 1969 chambered in pistol caliber cartridges. The action uses a lever actuated square bolt with a solid top steel receiver and side ejection, a configuration that provides a clean top profile and facilitates scope mounting via the factory tapped receiver. The 1894 feeds from a tubular magazine beneath the barrel. The design is chambered in pistol caliber cartridges such as .44 Remington Magnum and .357 Magnum. The JM stamp found on the barrel denotes proof testing, indicating the rifle was test fired with two high pressure proof loads to verify the integrity of the barrel and action prior to leaving the factory.

This example is a 1971 production rifle, manufactured at Marlin's original New Haven, Connecticut facility. It is fitted with a 20 inch Micro-Groove blued barrel, walnut straight grip stock and forend. The rifle features a gold finished trigger and gold finished saddle ring on the left side of the receiver. Sights consist of a blade front sight and an adjustable semi buckhorn rear sight. A Weaver style scope base is installed on the receiver. No original box or accessories included.
