The Leupold VX-7L was produced as part of Leupold's Golden Ring series and sat at the top of their riflescope lineup. The VX-7L used a 34mm main tube and incorporated Leupold's Xtended Twilight lens system, a multi coating process using lead free glass designed to transmit light across the full visible spectrum. The "L" suffix in the model name denotes the larger objective lens configuration. The optical system uses index matched lens coatings and DiamondCoat 2, an ion assist hard coating applied to the exterior lens surfaces for abrasion resistance. The objective bell on the VX-7L features a machined clearance notch on the underside, providing clearance for rifles equipped with barrel mounted rear sights. The scope features a side mounted focus adjustment knob with markings from 50 yards to infinity, low profile finger adjustable turrets with 1/4 MOA click adjustments, and a fast focus eyepiece. The scope body is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, nitrogen filled, and O-ring sealed.

This example is the 4.5-18x56mm configuration in matte black finish with a second focal plane Varmint Hunters reticle. The Varmint Hunters reticle uses fine crosshairs with horizontal and vertical stadia lines for wind holds and range estimation. No original box or accessories included.
