The Thunder Ranch Special was developed in cooperation with Clint Smith as a practical fighting 1911 using Les Baer’s hand-fit construction. The pistol uses a forged steel frame and slide with extremely tight slide to frame tolerances, a match barrel, and a fitted match bushing. The barrel locks up with minimal vertical and horizontal movement at the muzzle and hood, and the feed ramp and throat are polished. The pistol uses a beavertail grip safety, checkered front strap, and a crisp single action trigger typically set around four pounds.

This example has been machined for a compatibility with micro red dots with a CHPWS RMR cut. No original case or accessories included.
