IMI Desert Eagle Pistol, Baby Eagle 9mm, Slide Mounted Decocker
The IMI Desert Eagle Pistol, commonly referred to as the Baby Eagle, is a full size double action/single action semi automatic pistol designed by Israel Military Industries (IMI). Despite sharing the Desert Eagle name, this pistol is mechanically unrelated to the gas operated Magnum Research Desert Eagle. The Baby Eagle operates on a short recoil, locked breech system using a Browning derived cam locking mechanism with the barrel locking into the ejection port of the slide. The steel frame rides on full length slide rails and incorporates a squared trigger guard and an ergonomic grip angle influenced by the CZ 75 platform. The pistol features a slide mounted combination safety and decocker lever that, when engaged, decocks the hammer and blocks the firing pin. The Baby Eagle was imported into the United States by Magnum Research and was offered in 9mm, .40 S&W, and .41 AE, with the 9mm variant feeding from a double stack 15 round magazine.
This example is chambered in 9mm and features a steel frame and slide in a black finish, fitted with rubber grips, slide mounted safety/decocker, and fixed sights. Accompanied by two 15 round magazines and original box.
