Ithaca Model 37 Defense 12 Gauge, 20" Barrel, Parkerized, Ithaca Gun Company (Upper Sandusky, OH)

The Ithaca Model 37 is a pump action shotgun distinguished by its bottom loading and bottom ejecting action, which encloses both sides of the receiver and allows fully ambidextrous operation. Originally introduced in 1937 by Ithaca Gun Company of Ithaca, New York, the design has seen production under several successor companies. After the original Ithaca Gun Company ceased operations, production was continued by Ithaca Gun Company based in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, which manufactured new production Model 37 shotguns using the same fundamental bottom ejection design. The Model 37 Defense is a tactical and home defense configuration featuring a short barrel with cylinder bore choke, a full length magazine tube for increased shell capacity, and a matte Parkerized finish.

This example was produced by Ithaca Gun Company in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and is chambered in 12 gauge with a 3 inch chamber. It is fitted with a 20 inch barrel with a brass bead front sight and full length magazine tube. All metal surfaces features a matte Parkerized finish. The stock and corn cob forend are walnut with the stock featuring a semi pistol grip, straight comb, and rubber buttpad. No original box or accessories included.
