The HK VP9SK is the subcompact variant of the VP9 series, maintaining the same control layout and operating characteristics as the full size pistols in a reduced footprint. All primary controls are ambidextrous, including bilateral slide releases and paddle style magazine release, supporting left or right handed operation without the need for modification. Rear slide charging supports provide added purchase for slide manipulation.

The VP9SK uses a proprietary captive flat recoil spring system designed to moderate recoil impulse and improve control during rapid fire. The polymer frame features interchangeable grip panels and backstraps to tune fit, while the short slide and barrel length aid concealment.
