Heckler & Koch P7 PSP, West German Police Trade In

The Heckler & Koch P7 PSP is a German service pistol built around HK’s gas delayed blowback system and a fixed barrel, a design that delivers excellent inherent accuracy and a very low bore axis. Its most distinctive feature is the front strap squeeze cocker, which both cocks and decocks the striker, allowing the pistol to be carried safely with the chamber loaded while remaining immediately ready once the grip is engaged. The PSP variant represents the original police configuration, retaining the heel style magazine release and slim grip profile.

This example is marked HKI Trussville, AL, identifying importation through Heckler & Koch’s U.S. facility in Trussville, Alabama, and also bears the NDS marking. The NDS stamp denotes Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony), one of Germany’s federal states, and indicates police service with that state’s law enforcement agencies. P7 pistols marked NDS were issued to German police beginning in the late 1970s and 1980s, where the platform earned a strong reputation for safety, accuracy, and reliability. These pistols were later retired and imported into the United States as surplus, making documented police marked examples particularly desirable to collectors due to their clear service provenance. Original box, manual, three magazines, and gas cylinder brush included.
