The Glock 39 is a subcompact striker fired semi automatic pistol chambered in .45 GAP (Glock Automatic Pistol). The .45 GAP cartridge was developed in partnership with CCI/Speer to deliver .45 caliber terminal performance from a shorter overall cartridge length than the .45 ACP, and the Glock 39 is the smallest platform Glock produced in this chambering. The pistol uses a locked breech, short recoil operating system with a modified Browning cam lock design. The Safe Action system incorporates three independent safety mechanisms: a trigger safety, a firing pin safety, and a drop safety. The Gen 3 variant features Glock's finger groove grip texture on the polymer frame. The barrel is 3.46 inches with Glock's hexagonal profile rifling and a recessed target crown. The Glock 39 uses a single stack magazine well, resulting in a narrower grip profile than Glock's double stack models.
